8 NATURAL WAYS TO BOOST YOUR LASHES

Writer's picture: Shannon SwiftShannon Swift

It seems like everywhere you turn there are new methods for getting the eyelash length we all crave. But before going to extreme lengths, here are a few all-natural ways to boost them yourself!

1. Brush Lashes

To promote healthy eyelash growth, brush your lashes twice a day using a lash comb. Brushing them helps to evenly distribute your natural oils, keeping them healthy and strong.

2. Remove Eye Makeup

Take off your makeup before bed every night! Leaving it on can irritate and dry out your lashes and inhibits them from growing. It can even cause lashes to fall out! When you remove makeup, be sure to do so gently and use an all-natural makeup remover with moisturizing properties. (this can link to our product eventually)

3. Use Green Tea

Green tea can be used both internally and externally to help stimulate eyelash growth. In addition to drinking green tea, you can also dip a cotton ball into green tea at a comfortable temperature and apply it to your eyelashes. This will help to both stimulate growth and clean and nourish the follicles.

4. Eat Healthy

The saying “you are what you eat” applies here too, folks! Eating foods that are rich in protein and vitamins (especially B, D and E) can help promote lash growth. Foods containing iron help too!

5. Avoid Curlers & Waterproof Mascara

Although reaching luscious lengths with curlers and waterproof mascara may be tempting, they can both be damaging on the lashes. The pressure caused by curlers often causes them to weaken or break. If you aren’t willing to part with your curler, try gently pressing down a few times as opposed to one hard squeeze. Also, always use it before you apply mascara, as using it on wet lashes increases the chance that they will break or tear out. In addition, waterproof mascara dries them out and is harder to remove than regular mascara. This makes it more likely for your eyes to become irritated or for lashes to be pulled out while removing the mascara.

6. Refrain from Rubbing

Whether you’re trying to get makeup off or removing something from your eye, avoid rubbing your eyes too hard as this will cause lashes to fall out. Plus, any bacteria you may have on your fingers can get into your eyes, causing irritation. Although you want to avoid harshly rubbing them, it’s actually beneficial to gently massage the eyelids as it helps to increase blood circulation, stimulating hair growth.

7. Give Your Lashes a Breather!

Avoid brittle or dry lashes by giving them a break (no pun intended)! Wearing makeup frequently can cause lashes to break or even fall out. Giving them some extra TLC by letting them stand naturally will let them refresh and reset. If you absolutely need to wear makeup every day, try removing it as soon as you get home instead of waiting until just before bed.

8. Use an Eyelash Serum

Stimulate growth, repair and moisturization with an all-natural eyelash serum. Ingredients like castor oil, olive oil, coconut oil, and essential oils do wonders for your lash length, thickness and health! Check out our goddess-like, all-natural eyelash serums here.
